We engaged Blaise Building to do a passivhaus report (guiding the selection of materials to suit our location and climate), framing, and passivehaus elements to our home. This ended in a blower door test to assure targets were met. Our desired goal was to create a home with passivhaus principles (not certified passivhaus) and we agreed on a target of under 2.0 ACH50. The final result his team achieved for us was just under 1.0.
Building is never without challenges: La Niña adversely affected the speed we could complete the framing, and we had an area of roof leaking (a separate trade was engaged for kliplok roofing). Stephane did not point fingers or try to avoid responsibility but instead assisted in solving and negotiating the best outcome for the home.
Stephane strives to achieve a high quality passivhaus build. When any mistakes were made, or faults found, he always came to rectify without difficulty. He continues to check in on the home months after his team finished the framing and passivhaus elements and has offered assistance where necessary.
I would highly recommend working with Stephane. One of the top trades we worked with and genuinely cared about the quality of the build; we never felt like just another paycheck.
